Artist’s Impression of the Proposed Scheme

The Proposals

The site comprises unused land adjacent to the A170/A19/A168 roundabout. It is currently occupied by a bungalow known as Oakfields, as well as arable farmland.

BP propose to develop a service station on the site, providing a new facility for residents of Thirsk and also those passing through Thirsk and along the A19. The scheme would include a BP petrol filling station, together with a retail kiosk building incorporating an M&S Simply Food store and Wild Bean Café, alongside a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant and a drive-thru Costa coffee shop.

As well as enhancing consumer choice for residents of Thirsk, the proposals will also generate new job opportunities for local people and meet the needs of HGV users travelling on the A19.
